Colour
Engraving colured glass requires a completely different approach. Generally I engrave overlay (sometimes referred to as cased) glass. This is where a numbers of layers of glass are overlayed on a main layer of clear glass. As you engrave through one layer the colour below appears enabling the engraver to get different effects and even shades of the colour. It can be unforgiving though as you cannot replace colour that you have taken away!
